Hello everyone! My name is Wil, and I'm thrilled to announce my candidacy for the position of Academic Executive Officer.
As a final year Software Engineering student, I've served as a Course Representative for three years, a Student Council member for two years, and actively participated in society committees. These roles have honed my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of students' daily challenges.
As a Course Representative, I've led initiatives to enhance student welfare and academic outcomes, from advocating for improved feedback standards to organising revision sessions. My involvement in society committees has also granted me valuable insights into our student body's diverse needs.
Aims and Objectives:
As Academic Executive Officer, I aim to enhance the student experience and academic success. I will focus on:
- Lecture Timetabling: I will work towards improving lecture timetabling to best accommodate diverse schedules and ensure accessibility for all students.
- Hardware Provisions: I will conduct a comprehensive review of hardware provisions for courses and ensure the appropriate equipment is available for all students.
- Block Learning Provision: I will thoroughly evaluate its effectiveness and explore potential modifications to better serve the needs of our diverse student body.
To turn this vision into reality, I will:
- Hear you out! Your feedback guides all decisions and what issues to prioritise first.
- Team up with university staff and student representatives to implement solutions that solve the identified issues.
- Keep you posted on what's happening and request feedback on possible solutions.
Thank you for considering me as your Academic Executive Officer. Together, let's make a difference in the lives of our fellow students. Let's dive headfirst into this journey of transformation and ensure every student's voice is heard loud and clear. Vote for me, and let's make waves together!
