Hi my fellow mates!
I hope you guys are ok and coping up well with the studies stress. To start with this is me Komal Shahzadi and I’m happy to announce that I’m rerunning for the Equality and Diversity executive Officer role for the academic year 2024/25.
Curious about me let me give you some information about me:
- I graduated for Information Communication Technology in September 2023 from DMU.
- I served as a president of the Enactus Society during my final year of studies.
- Did an internship with De Montfort University as a content developer in the Disability team in my final year.
- Was a student leader for the university's peer assistant lead programme for over a year.
- Formerly assisted in human resources at the Enactus DMU.
What I want to achieve by continuing this role:
- I want to make sure I will help students to do the events of their own choice and also organize cultural festivals to make them feel like home.
- I want to improve international students experience by taking their voice to the university.
- I want to continue my work for introducing a policy for the extenuating circumstances regarding financial sustainability.
- I will continue working on the history months and celebrate them with students.
- I will work on the equal opportunities for disable students and provide them a safe space to feel more comfortable and confident.
