Hundreds of students came to find out what it means to #LeadYourDSU as De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Elections season was officially launched on Tuesday.
Over 200 De Montfort University (DMU) students attended #LeadYourDSU Day in the new Campus Centre Atrium to find out more about what it means to run in the Elections, how to nominate yourself and what it means to lead your students’ union.
More than 600 people also watched the event live on DSU’s Facebook page, as nominations opened and the Elections period officially got underway.
Dan Winney, President of DSU, said: “Elections is one of the best times of the year at the students’ union, and it’s always great to see students stand up and speak about the issues they feel passionately about.
“I have had the pleasure of running in two Elections, and would recommend the experience to anyone.”
Nominations for all five full-time positions and six part-time positions as well as Course Rep Elections are now OPEN until 4pm on Friday 24 February.
You can find out more about what it means to #LeadYourDSU, as well as how to nominate yourself (or a friend) here.
