De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) has launched a new campaign to highlight what you should expect from your personal tutor at De Montfort University (DMU) – and what’s expected of you!
Mollie Footitt, DP Education at DSU, is heading the Uni2Know campaign to raise awareness of the academic rights you’re entitled to as a student at DMU, including quality feedback, free support from your students’ union and the opening times of buildings around campus.
She explained: “As a student, I found it quite difficult to know exactly what I could expect from my lecturers and personal tutor, and equally what was expected from me.
“That’s why we’ve put all of the information in one place as part of the #Uni2Know campaign.”
You can head to the #Uni2Know page here to find information about your academic rights throughout the year, or pick up one of our handy coasters from Milly Lane’s to get all the key info in one place. (And to have somewhere to put that cup of tea when you’re studying.)
Mollie continued: “Feedback especially is a big one for students. Making sure the feedback you receive is of a high enough quality and given to you in the four-week window is really important, and is something that all students are entitled to.”
“This campaign is also a handy way of reinforcing that there is support for students from both the students’ union and university that you might not know about.”
We'll be highlighting your academic rights at DMU throughout the year.
