Students have more choice than ever before in deciding who they want to #LeadYourDSU.
Students have more choice than ever before in deciding who they want to lead De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU).
The manifestos of all 55 candidates – a record number – who want to #LeadYourDSU and make change at De Montfort University (DMU) have been released today.
Manifestos detail exactly what each candidate would do if elected by YOU, their fellow DMU students.
Before voting for all eleven members of your Officer Team – as well as your Course Rep – it’s important you study the manifestos so that you can rank your chosen candidates in order of preference when voting opens next Monday 13 March.
Dan Winney, outgoing President of DSU, said: “Elections is one of the best times of the year at the students’ union, and it’s always great to see students stand up and speak about the issues they feel passionately about.
“It’s important that you read the manifestos of the candidates to see what they’re about, and see the promises of what they would do if voted in. There are some extremely interesting ideas.”
Keira Rounsley, outgoing VP Welfare and Community at DSU, said: “Manifestos are what candidates promise to deliver on if voted into DSU.
“They’re short and sweet, and don’t take long to read, but they’ll really help you make an informed decision on who to vote for.
You can read all of the manifestos – as well as find out more about the roles – and watch videos explaining the elections process from Dan and Keira here.
