The nominations deadline for both Course Rep and student group committee Elections has been extended.
The nominations deadline for both Course Rep and student group committee Elections at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) has been extended.
The move is designed to allow more De Montfort University (DMU) students than ever before #PowerYourUnion as student leaders both at an academic level and within sports clubs and societies.
You’ll have the opportunity to put yourself forward until 11:59pm on Sunday 4 March.
Student group committee and Course Rep Elections are part of our wider #PowerYourUnion Elections, which will give you the chance to select the students who will lead DSU over the next 12 months.
Ahtesham Mahmood, President of DSU and formerly VP Student Activities at DSU, spoke of his experience of the process when nominations first opened in January.
He said: “As a student’s union, we hold being student-run and student-led close to our hearts, and the #PowerYourUnion Elections are the perfect opportunity for you to lead the strategic direction of DSU in the next academic year.
“I want to see really ambitious ideas, and for candidates to push the boundaries of the students’ union. We’re an engine of change, and this opportunity allows you to be the driver.
“We’ve got real quality behind all of our representation at DSU, and that comes from being as diverse as possible and bringing ideas from as many students at DMU as we can.
“If you’re thinking of running and have any questions, drop me a message on Twitter @DSU_Pres.”
