DSU are inviting YOU and your society to take part in Societies Varsity 2017.
This is it. The big one. The grudge match.
De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) are inviting YOU and your society to take part in Societies Varsity 2017.
Ahtesham Mahmood, VP Student Activities at DSU, said: “Varsity is an annual competition which takes place between De Montfort University (DMU) and our opponents over the road at the University of Leicester (UoL).
“Every year, we compete in various different activities to really showcase our talents and the great potential of our student body.
“The reason why we wanted to roll out a Societies Varsity is because we really want to emphasise that our societies deserve to be celebrated during this annual showcase with the amazing talents that they have.”
The competition will take place from Thursday 16 to Thursday 23 March. To take part you’ll need to get in touch with your counterparts at UoL (you can find a full list of student groups here) and decide on all the details and rules of your fixture.
You’ll then need to let the Activities department know on the form here – and make sure you set the fixture up as an event on the website to get as many supporters there as possible!
“This is your chance to show what you’re all about,” Ahtesham continued. “Make sure you get involved…and send me an invite on Twitter as I would love to cheer you on!
“I’d also urge the entire student body to get behind all of our sports clubs and societies during Varsity and support all of those taking part – in every corner of campus.”
