The countdown is on. It’s almost time for #FreshFest17.

Here at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) we’re pleased to announce that #FreshFest17 will officially start on Friday 22 September and run all the way to Sunday 1 October with a week crammed full of freebies, days and nights out and a tonne of ways to introduce you (or welcome you back) to Leicester and De Montfort University (DMU).

International Welcome Week, designed especially for international students new to DMU and the UK, will run from Friday 15 to Friday 22 September.

Ahtesham (right) was part of the Officer Team who welcomed thousands of students to DMU last year with events like ColourFest.

Ahtesham Mahmood, President of DSU, said: “Welcoming our newest students to DMU is always a huge highlight of the year – and I know that #FreshFest17 is going to be no different.

“We’re not just gold standard on the teaching side of things, but are constantly working to make sure you don’t just leave university with a piece of paper, but real experiences that’ll set you up for life.

“It’s also important that we cater to our diverse student body, so I’m pleased to say that #FreshFest17 will feature a wide range of day and night events to make sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and feel properly welcomed to Leicester.

“Personally, I can’t wait for September!”
