Your full-time elected EDI Executive Officer, Komal Shahzadi, will be leaving her post early at the end of January to take up a new role in the EDI team at the University.
As a second year Officer, Komal has served De Montfort University students since taking up her position in July 2023. Her projects ranging from working hard to secure free breakfasts for students in the academic year 23/24, to celebrating Women, Disabled Students, Faith groups, Global Majority and Mature students across dozens of events annually.
Her new role in DMU is a great achievement and demonstrates the positive relationship between the SU and the university and the career progression opportunities open to elected Officers.
