Our very own student media group have been nationally recognised once again.
De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s student media group have been nationally recognised once again.
Demon TV, part of the award-winning Demon Media group, picked up two ‘highly commended’ honours at the National Student Television Association (NaSTA)’s awards on Saturday night in the categories for ‘Best Video to Music’ and ‘Best Ident’.
Mike Mayes, Demon TV Station Manager, said: “We've had an amazing year and our team has gone from strength to strength.
“We've successfully started a huge number of really ambitious projects and the risk has paid off. It felt amazing to bring home our first awards at the NaSTAs for six years and to be recognised by industry professionals for our work is truly an honour.
“We were so glad to get a chance to go on stage and speaking with the judges afterwards they were amazed by what we could achieve as a bunch of students. One judge even came up to tell us how much he enjoyed watching Demons in Space!
“Throughout the whole conference the name Demon was being used as an example of how to run a student media organisation and other universities were asking us for advice on how to improve their own stations or how to bring the student TV, radio and print media closer together which is amazingly encouraging.
“I'm so proud of the team we've got this year and am even more excited now to see what next year will bring.”
Now, where are the keys to our trophy cabinet…?
