These updates were decided at the most recent Student Council to make sure we’re addressing the key issues that matter most to YOU!

Student Voice Leader - Academic Experience
This role focuses on shaping academic strategy and ensuring student voice is heard in key academic decisions about teaching, learning, and assessments. If you’re passionate about making academic life better for students, this is your chance to lead!
Student Voice Leader - Communities
This refreshed role aims to Represent DMU’s societies, sports clubs, volunteering, and extracurricular activities! With changes made to reflect the diverse student interests, you’ll have the opportunity to lead projects that connect students and make sure their voices are heard!
Student Voice Leader - International Experience
This new role role has been created to focus on supporting our growing international students, making sure their needs and perspectives are addressed in university strategy. It’s all about creating an inclusive environment where international students feel truly supported at DMU!
Student Voice Leader - Employability
This new role is more focused on career development and personal growth for students. You’ll represent students in employability matters, leading initiatives on skills training, career readiness, and job opportunities, ensuring the student voice is heard in shaping the future of employability services at DMU.
Student Voice Leader - Inclusion and Wellbeing
This role is now more dedicated to supporting students from marginalised groups and promoting mental health and wellbeing for all. You’ll lead initiatives to ensure inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at DMU, creating a more supportive and equitable environment for every student.
Student Liberation Officers – [Part-time Elected Volunteer Students]
Do this alongside your studies! You must be a student in the 2025-2026 academic year to be eligible.
Disabled Students Liberation Officer
This role remains dedicated to representing the interests of students with disabilities. You’ll create tailored campaigns and work within university committees to ensure disability representation is a priority at DMU.
Global Majority Liberation Officer
Focused on representing Global Majority students, this role has been strengthened to ensure that the voices and needs of these communities are heard loud and clear through campaigns and events.
LGBTQ+ Liberation Officer
Continue to represent and empower the LGBTQ+ student community. You’ll lead campaigns and initiatives that create an inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ students on campus and beyond.
Student Parents, Carers and Guardians Liberation Officer
New changes will ensure this role better supports students who are parents, carers, or guardians. You’ll create campaigns and represent these students, making sure their unique needs are addressed at all levels.
Women’s Liberation Officer
This role is focused on creating even more tailored campaigns and events for women students, ensuring equality and empowerment in every area of student life at DMU.
Faculty Lead Representatives – [Part-time Elected Volunteer Students]
Work alongside your studies. You must be a student in the 2025-2026 academic year to be eligible.
x4 UG Faculty Lead Representatives
These reps have an even stronger role in representing undergraduate students in their respective faculties, making sure their voices are heard and their experience is improved across university committees and campaigns.
x4 PG/PGT/PGR Faculty Lead Representatives
Focused on postgraduate students, this role has been updated to make sure the needs of PGT and PGR students are fully represented, ensuring their academic and social experiences are enhanced throughout their studies.
