De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) is launching a brand-new programme to encourage students to try a range of activities without any commitment.
The scheme, called Give It a Go, aims to provide a platform for students at De Montfort University (DMU) to experience new things and empower individuals to reach out of their comfort zone.
Give It a Go will offer students the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities from trips and volunteering opportunities, to society taster sessions and enhancement workshops without signing up to anything long term. All either free or at a discounted student-friendly price!
There is NO commitment or membership fee required with all sessions being one off experiences!
Here at DSU we’ve already put on Give It A Go days and activities as part of Freshers 2019 to give students the chance of try out new societies and sports teams before joining.
So far during this academic year, DSU have also ran two Give It a Go trips to the Diwali light switch on and also the Abbey Park Bonfire Night.
Your Student Opportunities and Engagement Executive, Aisha Ismail says: “Give it A Go is an experience without the commitment.
It gives students the chance explore, benefit and learn from a wide range of different opportunities such as cultural events, volunteering, democracy and society and sport taster sessions to see what works for them.”
DSU will be launching Give It a Go on Tuesday 26 November in the Campus Centre Atrium from 12pm. Find out more about the event here.
At the launch there will be society performances from Bollywood, Hip Hop, Acapella and Salsa, as well as free food, stalls and freebies.
Come along and Give It a Go!
