October 2024 DSU Elections: The results are in!

Each October, your Students' Union hosts a smaller round of elections to fill voluntary roles that remained vacant after the main Student Leadership Elections held at the end of the previous academic year. This year, roles available included a mix of committee positions in societies and sports clubs, Course Representatives, Liberation Officers for International and Postgraduate Students, and the CEM Faculty Lead Representative. Liberation Officers By-Election Results

We are proud to introduce the newly elected part-time volunteer officer who will advocate for the unique needs of their communities: 

  • International Students Liberation Officer: Badhhri Sai Purnima Raj Durgapu

These officers play a vital role in supporting international and postgraduate students, addressing unique challenges, creating an inclusive environment, and improving the overall student experience. Their work includes advocating for resources, organizing events, and acting as a bridge between students and the university.

Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM) Faculty Lead Rep By-Election Results 

We are pleased to announce the election of: 

  • CEM Faculty Lead Rep: Faysal Reza 

As Faculty Lead, Faysal will advocate for the academic interests of students within the CEM faculty. This role is essential in ensuring that student concerns are represented in faculty meetings and that Course Representatives have the support they need to succeed. Faysal’s work will involve close collaboration with both faculty staff and students, enhancing communication and fostering a commitment to academic excellence across the department.
