DSU’s resident lettings charity has officially launched its brand new high street shop in #YourNewDSU.
De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s resident lettings charity has officially launched its brand new high street shop in #YourNewDSU.
Sulets, jointly run by DSU and University of Leicester (UoL) Students’ Union, is Leicester’s leading not-for-profit student accommodation provider, and celebrated the launch of a new brand and the opening of its new De Montfort University (DMU) branch alongside Dan Winney, President of DSU, and VP Welfare and Community Keira Rounsley last week.
Guests were also treated to canapés from Milly Lane's, DSU's brand new bar and restaurant.
Irving Hill, CEO of Sulets, said: “The Grand Opening was a huge success. It has been fantastic to recognise how far Sulets has come as a business and we are really excited about what the future holds for us.
“We are confident that our refreshed identity along with the new outlet on campus will really secure our status within the city as a highly-trusted lettings agency and the go-to provider for Leicester students.”
The special VIP event took place last Wednesday evening with local landlords, trustees and other students’ union members in attendance to officially open the branch – which opened its doors to students earlier this year – and to enjoy treats from DSU’s brand new eatery, Milly Lane’s.

Keira, who earlier this year ran a housing campaign with DSU’s Advice team, said: “Housing is so important to not just students at DMU, but across Leicester, and it’s all part of making university part of a home away from home.
“Sulets are unique in the sense that they are part-owned by both DSU and Leicester Students’ Union, and with their not-for-profit outlook you know that they’re doing the best by their tenants.
“I’d like to thank Irving and the Sulets team for the invite to the opening of this great new space which should mean that more students can make use of Sulets’ fantastic services!”

The brand new high street shop – boasting the service's new branding – sits at the top of Mill Lane on the DMU campus.
