What is NUS?

National Union of Students (NUS), is a nationwide collective of Student Unions which aims to represent student priorities at a higher level, focusing on common issues that go beyond specific institutions. They aim to mobilise students and campaign for change on a larger scale.

Why is this relevant to my time at DMU?

De Montfort Students’Union elect NUS Reps each year who are tasked with bringing items to the NUS’s National Conference.

There is a national issue I want to address!

If there is a national issue which is impacting the student experience, you can address your NUS Reps and ask for them to raise this at National Conference and beyond.

Attend a Student Council to address these concerns and submit an idea proposal for Council to consider. Your NUS Reps want to hear from you!

Who are DSU's NUS Representatives?

DSU’s Student Council Chair and Co-Chair are your main NUS Representatives channelling your Student Council priorities to NUS. They are also joined by two Student Voice Leaders assisting them with representing student interests.
