The Student Parents, Carers and Guardians Liberation Officer represents and advocates for the needs of students who are parents, provide care to another person or have guardian responsibilities, ensuring their voices are heard across the university. They work to make the student experience better for those with caring duties and make their time at university more flexible around their lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a voice for students with parenting/caring/guardian responsibilities in university discussions and decision-making.
- Develop initiatives to support students with guardian responsibilities, such as awareness campaigns, peer support groups, or accessibility workshops.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address barriers and improve services for parent, carer and guardian students.
- Gather and represent parent, carer and guardian students' feedback to influence university policies and practices.
- Work closely with the Full-Time Inclusion & Diversity Student Executive Officer and the other Liberation Officers to create change for students!
