Hello my name is MUHAMMED SHANIB and I am running for the role of Vice- President Education. I am a driven and passionate individual who would be privileged to represent the diverse community that in DMU. There is lots of issues in DMU students actually don’t know I am assuring that I will take the union close to students.

 Who I am:

I am an international student, studying Global MBA. I represented in my student union during my undergraduate studies with various duties and responsibilities and made effect full results.

I believe that all aspects of university are part of education so will focus on improving student’s experiences in all areas.

 

•             Training workshops for new students to effectively manage emails (& themselves!)

•             Improve level of cultural awareness amongst all students

•             Foster a culture for research and development

•             Improve tutoring and e-learning opportunities

•             Improve access to information for students on placements and Erasmus

•             More resources for students

•             Promote awareness of support available

•             Conduct casual debate for understanding the issues

•             Assistance for mental health sufferers

 

As an international student myself, I understand and can empathise with many of the issues faced by students in DMU and will act upon the equally on supporting both home and international students.

As students we are infamous for our limited disposable funds, and I believe there are several little changes that could be made to ease the pressure on our pockets! This includes:

•             Printing costs

•             Expensive shops and cafes on campus

•             Car parking charges in and around campus

We have a brilliant DMU Global, provides many opportunities, I would like work and invite students to maximise and expand this even further.
