My name is Zahin Hasshu and I am third year Media Production student.

I have always been passionate about creativity and have spent a lot of my time producing all types of media content, from YouTube videos and film, to graphics and music. I have a wide understanding of media and how to communicate information effectively.

For the last two academic years I have worked as a Videographer at the De Montfort Students’ Union.

I have worked closely with the previous Officer teams and the Communications department at DSU to deliver valuable content and information to students.

This included DSU event videos (including society coverage), Officer campaign videos, helpful Advice videos and communicating how DSU is representing your academic interests at DMU.

If elected, I will strive to:

Diversify Demon Media to express the amazing diversity at DMU, to shine a light on the skills that all types of students can bring to Demon Media, including BAME students and students in non-media related courses.

Clearly communicate what DSU and the Officer team are actively doing to:

• address student feedback and concerns
• represent you and your academic interests
• improve your student experience at DMU

Establish more effective ways for students to communicate with Course Representatives to get your voice, feedback and concerns heard. Using online platforms and media as a catalyst for this.

Increase exposure for DSU’s student groups (societies and sports teams) by bringing more involvement into DSU and Demon Media video and social media content, showcasing the wide range of activities that are on offer to home and international students at DMU.
